River Valley Rising

Mission Statement: Working to prevent and reduce youth substance use disorder  by aligning existing resources, facilitating education, and supporting families, schools, and communities. 

Vision: To reduce substance abuse and to bring awareness to the River Valley Region. 

GOAL 1: To increase coalition capacity and establish and strengthen collaboration to support efforts to prevent and reduce substance abuse among youth through:
•    Coalition-Building, and
•    Community-wide Prevention Planning.

GOAL 2: To reduce substance abuse among youth and, over time, among adults by addressing risk and protective factors in the River Valley communities in the areas of:
•    Community Norms,
•    Parental Monitoring,
•    Law and Policy Enforcement, and
•    Access and Availability.

If you care about the health and safety of Maine youth, you need to care about youth access to marijuana and underage drinking.
